dry book coverI read this one during quarantine, which was a little trippy.  The main story is about a brother and sister, Alyssa and Garrett, living their normal lives, arguing, dealing with parents, etc.  The neighbors are preppers and their son has a crush on the sister.  Then the drought going in the background becomes very serious, all of a sudden there’s no water from the tap, the stores are all empty of all drinks, people start stealing and hurting others, society starts breaking down.  Alyssa and Garrett’s parents hear about a water hand out, but are presumably hurt or killed in a riot, so Alyssa and Garrett have to make a survival plan, which includes teaming up with some other teens, including the prepper neighbor,  they meet along the way.

The story is exciting and full of action, twists, and turns.  Are Alyssa and Garrett’s parents alive?  Will Alyssa and Garrett survive?  Will the water come back?  Will things ever go back to normal?
